2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD Spotlight in Sheridan, WY
When you need a truck that’s ready to work as hard as you are, the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD is the answer. With an honorable, American heritage and a long-standing reputation for capability and longevity, there’s no heavy-duty truck quite like the Silverado HD.
2500 capability vs. 3500 capability
Both the Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD are designed for a long day at work. Each comes with smart towing features, a strong, sturdy truck bed, and a choice between two powerful engines. Chevrolet created a distinction between the two models in order to provide two levels of heavy-duty capability.
The Silverado 2500HD gets its maximum towing capacity from the all-new 6.6-liter V8 engine. This powertrain delivers 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque, allowing the 2500HD to tow up to 18,510 pounds. That’s plenty of power for a multitude of work needs, but if you require capability beyond that, you should go for the Silverado 3500HD.
The 3500HD delivers its maximum trailering weight with the available Duramax® 6.6-liter turbo-diesel V8. A segment-exclusive air induction system helps boost this engine’s output, which reaches 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque. When equipped with this engine, the Silverado 3500HD has a gooseneck towing maximum of 35,500 pounds.
Whether you choose the 2500 or the 3500, you’ll get to take advantage of thoughtfully designed work features, including the Durabed, the most functional work bed of any HD truck. It has the most cargo volume of its class at 83.5 cubic feet, and comes with 12 standard tie-downs, plus available LED cargo area lighting.
The bed is designed with seven different steels for maximum sturdiness and longevity, and is easy to reach thanks to integrated BedSteps. High Country trims come with a segment-exclusive power-up/-down tailgate for easy access during a busy work day.
