The 2023 Chevrolet Traverse is everything you could want in an SUV — powerful, stylish, and modern, with plenty of advanced technology to keep you both safe and entertained on your travels. With everything the new Traverse has on offer, it’s hard to imagine an SUV that’s better equipped for everything you need.
Elegant exterior style
The 2023 Traverse is designed with an understated style that will turn heads without being over-the-top or flashy, with streamlined molding and standard LED lighting. If you want a bit of extra flair, though, there are a few special editions you can choose: Midnight, Sport, RS, and Redline. The first matches a Mosaic Black Metallic exterior paint color with a black grille, roof rails, badging, and even black Chevrolet bowties for a sleek appearance.
The other editions give you a sportier look. The Sport Edition features black accents as well, but without the stipulation of a black exterior paint color, while RS adds black window moldings, RS badging, and 20-inch dark-painted aluminum wheels. Last but not least, the Redline pops with both red and black accents, like red accents in the 20-inch gloss black wheels, a red stripe along the side mirror caps, and red-rimmed black Traverse badging.
Power and performance
Under the hood, you’ll find a 3.6-liter V6 paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission that offers you towing capacity up to 5,000 pounds. Depending on whether your Traverse is equipped with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, you’ll have a certain set of Drive Modes that let you tailor your SUV’s performance to the situation at hand. The Drive Modes include Front-Wheel Drive, available All-Wheel Drive, Snow, Tow/Haul, and available Off-Road.
A thoroughly functional cabin
Inside the cabin, the 2023 Traverse offers best-in-class 98.2 cubic feet of maximum cargo volume, along with a 60/40 split-folding third-row that lets you accommodate both passengers and large gear. For storing smaller items, there are storage compartments beneath the cargo area floor and even behind the infotainment screen. And to make it easier to load up, there’s an available hands-free power liftgate.
The second row is available either as a bench or as captain’s chairs, which gives you the option of capacity for seven or eight passengers. The second row also offers Smart Slide® seating, which makes it easier for passengers to get to the back row.
For entertainment on your drive, you can connect to the 7-inch Chevrolet Infotainment 3 System — or the available 8-inch Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus — with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ for a streamlined listening experience. You can also use available Alexa Built-In if you prefer Amazon systems; this one will even let you shop and operate compatible home devices from your SUV.
The infotainment system also offers in-vehicle apps like Spotify and available integrated navigation capability. And neither you nor your passengers will ever have to worry about a low phone battery on the road, thanks to USB ports in every row.
Extensive safety systems
The 2023 Traverse comes standard with Chevy Safety Assist, a comprehensive suite of safety systems. It includes Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Front Pedestrian Braking, Following Distance Indicator, and Intellibeam® High Beam Assist. Teen Driver and the Rear Vision Camera come standard as well.
For even more peace of mind, there is a myriad of available safety technologies you can add on. Some of these include Safety Alert Seat, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Pedestrian Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control, HD Surround Vision, and a Rear Camera Mirror.
