J.D. Power Ranks Silverado HD as Segment Leader in Dependability Study
J.D. Power’s 2021 Vehicle Dependability Study ranked the Chevy Silverado HD as the leader of the pack in the Large Heavy Duty Pickup segment, highlighting the quality and durability of the iconic Chevy truck.
The J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study surveys three-year owners of vehicles to gather information about different issues and defects they’ve experienced within their first 36 months of ownership. A total of 177 problems are included in the survey, proving its wide breadth of inquiry.
The Chevy Silverado HD features that stood out most were its reliable technologies designed to enhance safety, infotainment, towing, and convenience. Whereas other brands experienced some problems across their technology features, the Chevy Silverado has proven to be full of innovative features that stay functional for years on end.
Mechanical parts such as Duramax® engines and Allison® transmissions help the Silverado HD provide consistent value. The high-strength steel of the Durabed promises lasting quality no matter how much work you put it through.
Powertrains capable of generating up to 910 lb-ft of torque and 445 horsepower maintain that power throughout the years. The class-leading 15-available trailering camera views have the same level of durability as you can expect from the rest of the segment-leading Chevy Silverado HD.
